The Minimalist Matcha Set

Presence without clutter.

Two tools. One bowl. One whisk.

The Minimalist Set is built for the practitioner who already understands that the ritual is the point — not the equipment around it.

The Mino-yaki bowl grounds the warmth. The Kazuho whisk builds the froth. The bamboo scoop, the dose. Meiso matcha does the rest.

The Practitioner Note

This set removes the scoop deliberately.

Measuring by sight — one levelled half-teaspoon, learned through repetition — is how the relationship with your matcha deepens. You start to know your bowl. You start to know your morning.

That is the quiet purpose of the Minimalist Set.

The Bowl

The Mino-yaki bowl is one of Japan's oldest ceramic traditions — fired in Gifu Prefecture, shaped for warmth in the hands. Paired with the Kazuho whisk, this is a set built for daily use without daily compromise.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is there no scoop in the Minimalist Set?
Intentionally. Learning to measure by sight — roughly half a teaspoon, adjusted to your taste — builds a more intuitive practice. It's a small act of presence. If you prefer the precision of a scoop from day one, our Morning Essentials Set includes one.

How do I care for the Mino-yaki bowl?
Hand wash only with cold or lukewarm water. No dishwasher — thermal shock can crack the glaze over time. Dry immediately with a soft cloth. The bowl may develop a slight patina with use. This is normal and valued in Japanese ceramic tradition.

How do I care for the Kazuho whisk?
Rinse under cold water immediately after use. Never use soap. Reshape tines gently while wet and rest tine-up to air dry. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Which matcha size should I choose — 30g or 100g?
The 30g is ideal if you're new to ceremonial matcha or want to try the Meiso blend before committing. The 100g suits daily practitioners — it works out significantly better value per gram and keeps well in a cool, dry place or freezer.

Is this set suitable for beginners?
Yes — the set is intentionally paired down, but the Kazuho whisk is forgiving and the Mino-yaki bowl is a generous size. The only variable is learning your matcha dose, which takes a few mornings and becomes second nature.
