100-Tine Kazuho Matcha Whisk
The difference is in the tines.
Standard whisks carry 70–80 tines. The Kazuho carries 100.
Each tine is hand-split from a single bamboo stalk — thin enough to suspend matcha particles evenly, strong enough to build the dense micro-foam that unlocks the full umami depth of a ceremonial-grade bowl.
The result: a crema that sits. Not dissipates. The kind that makes you pause before the first sip.
Why 100 Tines?
More tines means more surface contact with the water.
That contact does two things: it aerates faster, and it breaks up fine matcha particles more completely — so you're tasting the full cultivar profile of the Meiso blend, not just the surface layer.
This is the same whisk style used in Japanese tea ceremony. Not an approximation of it.
The Craft Note
Hand-split. Studio-made. Each whisk leaves the hands of an artisan before it reaches yours.
No two are identical. That is the point.
Studio-handmade | Natural bamboo | Same tine style used in Japanese tea ceremony
Each whisk is a limited studio production. Handmade items vary slightly in tine spread and handle tone — no two are the same.
The Kazuho matcha whisk features 100 hand-split bamboo tines — more than the standard 70–80. Higher tine count increases water-surface contact, suspending matcha particles faster and building a denser micro-foam crema. Recommended for daily ceremonial matcha preparation.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I care for my whisk?
Rinse under cold water immediately after use. Never use soap — it strips the bamboo. Shape the tines gently with your fingers while wet, then rest it tine-up to air dry. A whisk holder (kusenaoshi) keeps the shape between uses.
Can I use it in the dishwasher?
No. Heat and detergent will split and warp the tines permanently. Cold rinse only.
How long does it last?
With daily use and proper care, 3–6 months. The tines will naturally soften over time — this is normal. Replace when tines begin to break away from the base.
How do I store it?
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Never store wet inside a closed container.
What's the correct whisking motion?
A brisk W or M motion — not circular. Keep the tines near the base of the bowl and whisk quickly for 20–30 seconds until micro-foam forms on the surface.
