Preparing Matcha

Basic recipes

Bold & thick matcha latte:

  1. 4g (around 1-2 bamboo scoops or strength preference of choice) of matcha into whisking bowl
  2. Add 30ml of 80°C water
  3. 100ml of cold or warm milk of choice.

Thin usucha:

1. 2g matcha (1 bamboo scoop)
2. 60ml of water at 80℃

How to Make the Perfect Matcha

  • MEASURE & SIFT

    Measure 1 tsp or 2-3g of matcha (about 2 bamboo scoops or adjust according to taste) and sift the powder into your mixing bowl

  • WHISK

    Add 30-40ml of 70-80°C water and whisk vigorously in a 'Z' or 'M' motion, until powder is dissolved and froth appears

  • SERVE

    Piccolo version: combine matcha with 40-50ml of cold or warm milk of choice for a bold and umami latte.

    Iced americano version: combine matcha with ice and 100-120ml of cold water! Sip, savour & enjoy!
